Established in 2017, Urban Brew is the passion project of entre-POD-neur Toby Strong. Toby created Urban Brew with the goal of offering freshly roasted coffee in compostable coffee pods at a reasonable price for Australian consumers. We combine a passion for the environment and a deep love for great-tasting coffee to produce Australia’s finest compostable coffee pods! Our brand ethos is based on the premise of old-school, authentic service: from our Customer Happiness Team (and their above-and-beyond-style attentiveness), to the fact that we deliver happiness right to your door, not just a product! In stripping away behind-the-scenes inefficiencies, we’re able to offer great-tasting coffee pods at half the price of big-name brands, roasted and packed right here in Australia.

When we launched in 2017, we found that the best technology available for an eco-friendly pod was the d2w oxo-biodegradable plastic technology. It could be recycled or treated as general waste. We knew many customers' habits were to just throw their pods straight into their general waste. Conventional plastics and aluminium can take up to 500 years to breakdown in landfill. In comparison, the oxo-biodegradable pod takes around 2 years for this to happen. We felt this was a much more eco-friendly breakdown duration that didn't require customers to change their habits.With eco-friendly technology continuing to develop over the past few years, we have now chosen to switch over to an industrially compostable pod.

Our coffee pods/capsules are 100% compatible with Nespresso®*, Caffitaly ®* and K-fee®*... and our coffee pods/capsules are half the price of Nespresso®* and many other coffee pod/capsule brands!
