Their vegan cork fabric is sourced from the bark of the Cork Oak tree in Portugal. The Cork Oak is the only tree that benefits from the removal of its bark, because the bark regenerates every 8-10 years it is truly an eco-conscious natural resource. After harvesting, the tree absorbs about 5 times the CO2, making harvesting important in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Cork fabric is also stain-resistant, water-resistant, scratch-proof, hypoallergenic, antimicrobial, flame retardant, lightweight, and incredibly soft!
Carry Courage ensures ethical fair labor practices and transparency, and their bags are not mass produced, but hand made in small quantities.
